Feeding Services
Ages 12-Adulthood
This service is designed to support adolescents and adults who exhibit feeding difficulties, including but not limited to:

-
low appetite or interest in eating
-
refusal of novel foods
-
sensitivity to flavors and textures
-
social interference (e.g., difficulty eating out at restaurants or traveling due to food selectivity)

Those who experience these feeding challenges may meet criteria for a diagnosis of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). Unlike eating disorders, ARFID is a feeding disorder and is unrelated to body image. Treatment goals may center on increasing volumes consumed, broadening the range of accepted foods, and/or improving general flexibility around feeding behaviors.

Feeding Assessment
Clarify whether concerns reflect typical development or a feeding disorder, and discuss recommendations for appropriate next steps.
The assessment begins with a standard intake appointment and may extend to additional sessions when further evaluation or observation is needed. Recommendations may include parent guidance, feeding therapy, referrals to medicine, nutrition, or oral motor specialists, or outpatient therapy to address broader concerns.

Parent Guidance
For parents seeking practical strategies to strengthen mealtime structure and routine, expand food acceptance, reduce mealtime conflict, and support growth and nutritional stability.

Feeding Therapy
For adolescents or adults experiencing significant anxiety, avoidance, nutritional limitation, or social interference related to eating, who may benefit from structured food exposure and individualized treatment.
